50th Annual Cowboy Capital Pro Rodeo Schedule & Details

It’s almost RODEO time in Stephenville!

The Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo Association and local businesses are gearing up to make this year’s rodeo the best one yet, with entertainment and fun for all ages! Last year’s event was a rodeo for the record books. From the fans in the stands and ticket sales, to nearly 600 Pro Rodeo athletes, and an all-time high payout…Stephenville’s PRCA Rodeo undeniably lived up to the title of ‘Cowboy Capital of the World.’

Saturday, September 21

• 8:00 AM – Cowboy Capital / Lonestar Barbecue Society BBQ Cook-Off*, Lone Star Arena
• 9:00 AM – Miss Cowboy Capital Pro Rodeo Queen Contest: Speech/Modeling/Interview*, Cowboy Church of Erath County
• 5:00 PM – Registration opens for Mutton Bustin’ & Dummy Roping*, Lone Star Arena
• 6:00 PM – Rodeo Heritage Week Kickoff Celebration presented by Bruner Auto Family/RAM Trucks*, Stephenville City Park
• Activities include: McCoy’s Mutton Bustin’, Cooper’s Country Store Dummy Roping, Bruner Auto RAM Truck Displays & More!

• 1:00 PM – Miss Cowboy Capital Pro Rodeo Queen Contest: Horsemanship*, Cowboy Church of Erath County
• 2:00 PM – Cowboy Capital County Team Roping presented by X-Treme Team Roping & Mitchell Pipe & Supply*, Lone Star Arena

• 5:00-7:00 PM – “Ode to Rodeo” Western Art Exhibit Reception presented by Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council*, Clark Regional Airport, Stephenville

• 6:00 PM – The Show: Food, Fashion, & Fundraising, Twisted J Live

• 9:00 AM – PRCA Timed Event Slack*, Lone Star Arena
• 6:00 PM – WPRA Barrel Racing Slack*, Lone Star Arena
• 6:30 PM – Denim & Dust Concert featuring Riders in the Sky* presented by the Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council, Birdsong Amphitheater in Stephenville City Park

• 7:00 AM – PRCA Steer Roping Slack*, Lone Star Arena
• 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Rodeo Zone featuring family fun cowboy activities, presented by Stephenville Downtown Merchants, Downtown Square
• 7:00 PM – PRCA Rodeo Performance #1 presented by First Financial Bank, “American Patriot Night – Honoring all those who serve!”, Lone Star Arena *Active duty military get in free with ID or uniform. Spouses or kids must have ticket.
• 9:00 PM – Dancin’ in the Dirt Live Music Concert with Jake Hooker & The Outsiders, Lone Star Arena (free admission with rodeo ticket)

• 7:30 AM – Cowboy Capital 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run*, Stephenville City Park
• 8:00 AM – Chuckwagon Breakfast from Hired Gun* presented by Stephenville Downtown Merchants, Downtown Square
• 9:00 AM – Kids Rodeo Clown Costume Contest* presented by Stephenville Downtown Merchants, Downtown Square
• 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Rodeo Zone featuring family fun cowboy activities, presented by Stephenville Downtown Merchants, Downtown Square
• 10:00 AM – Rodeo Heritage Parade presented by TxPages* Downtown Square

• 11:00 AM – Special Needs Rodeo presented by White Horse Christian Academy*, Lone Star Arena
• 7:00 PM – PRCA Rodeo Performance #2 presented by The Hay & Feed Ranch/Oxy-Gen, Inc., “It’s Gonna Get Western Night!”, Lone Star Arena
• 9:00 PM – Dancin’ in the Dirt Live Music Concert with Zach Edwards Band, Lone Star Arena (free admission with rodeo ticket)

• 2:00 PM – PRCA Rodeo Performance #3 presented by JJ Hampton Realty, “Sunday Showdown”, Lone Star Arena

 
RODEO TICKETS:
Rodeo tickets will be available at
Bradberry’s Best, Capital Hatters,
Chick Elms Rodeo Shop & Grand Entry Western Wear,
Saddle Rags, and Stephenville Chamber of Commerce.
Adults: $12 in advance, $15 at the door
Kids age 6-12: $8 in advance, $10 at the door
5 & Under: Free!
