    Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CST
    Event Description:

The Honorable Judge Brandon Huckabee, Erath County Commissioners Court, and the Alamo Letter Society invite the public to attend the dedication of the "Victory or Death", Travis Letter bronze plaque on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Erath County Courthouse.

The Travis Letter is a famous letter written by Lieutenant Colonel, William Barret Travis on February 24, 1836. It was a plea for aid from the people of Texas and the United States for the Alamo garrison during the siege of the Alamo. The letter is considered a primary source document that helps to explain the history of the Texas Revolution.

The goal of the Alamo Letter Society is to create replicas of the 203-pound bronze plaque bearing the iconic Alamo "Victory or Death" letter and dedicate one at each of Texas’ 254 courthouses. These plaques will stand as lasting tributes, reminding future generations of Texans of their forefathers' fight for liberty, freedom, and resistance against oppression.
