Tarleton State University’s Department of Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Cross Timbers Civic Chorale and the Tarleton Masterworks Orchestra, will present the 45th annual Charles and Cynthia Rives Masterworks Concert in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
The concert will feature Mendelssohn's cantata titled "Vom Himmel hoch" in German or "From Heav'n on High" in English, in addition to seasonal favorites such as John Rutter's arrangement of "Joy to the World," Elaine Hagenberg's setting of "The Sussex Carol" and Handel's beloved and majestic "Hallelujah Chorus.”
“These timeless melodies are familiar to many and will kindle the spirit of the season,” said Dr. Troy Robertson, Tarleton State Director of Choirs. “More than just a concert, this cherished tradition is a celebration of music, community and the enduring legacy of Charles and Cynthia Rives. Their vision and support have made this concert a highlight of the cultural calendar for over four decades.”
