Tarleton Choirs Host Annual Masterworks Concert, Dec. 2nd.
Tarleton State University’s Department of Performing Arts will present the 44th annual Charles and Cynthia Rives Masterworks Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.

The program centers on Handel’s “Messiah,” “a masterpiece that has moved audiences for centuries,” said Dr. Troy Robertson, Tarleton Director of Choirs. “This oratorio, with its majestic choruses and profound solos, remains one of the most revered works in choral repertoire. Experience the power and beauty of Handel’s composition, brought to life by our talented musicians.”
A selection of carols and holiday tunes will add to the evening.
“These timeless melodies, familiar to many, will kindle the spirit of the season,” Dr. Robertson said. “More than just a concert, this cherished tradition is a celebration of music, community and the enduring legacy of Charles and Cynthia Rives. Their vision and support have made this concert a highlight of the cultural calendar for over four decades.”
