Please join us at the Stephenville Historical House Museum at The Chapel on the Bosque on Sunday, April 16, at 4:00 o'clock in the Chapel on the Bosque. Craig Hillis and Bob Livingston will join me for a journey through some of the great songwriters covered in PICKERS AND POETS: THE RUTHLESSLY POETIC SINGER-SONGWRITERS OF TEXAS (Texas A&M University Press, 2016).
Craig was my co-editor on the book and contributed several essays. Bob contributed an essay on Willis Alan Ramsey.
Both were members of the original Lost Gonzo band and have played with Texas greats like Jerry Jeff Walker and Michael Martin Murphy. In fact, Craig is working on a book about the recording of Jerry Jeff's ¡Viva Terlingua! which both Craig and Bob played on.
We'll play some great songs by Texas singer-songwriters covered in the book, as well as a few originals, and Craig and Bob will tell some great stories.
