W.K. Gordon Museum and Research Center will host the showing of Charlie Chaplin in "The Kid" a black and white silent film that has tugged at heartstrings for more than 100 years!
"The Kid" was originally released in 1921, written, produced, directed by and starred Chaplin and features Jackie Coogan as his foundling baby, adopted son and sidekick.
The movie, Chaplin's first full-length film as a director, was a huge success and was the second-highest grossing film in 1921. Now considered one of the greatest films of the silent era, it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2011.
